Introduction to Charging Smart: How Local Governments Can Foster Electric Vehicle Deployment Webinar

Be part of an introductory webinar on April 21, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. CT to learn about Energy Ready’s Charging Smart technical assistance and national designation program. The Great Plains Institute, facilitator of Drive Electric Minnesota, is a founding partner of Charging Smart.

Local jurisdictions play a critical role in shaping the policies, processes, and programs that support the deployment of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure. By streamlining installation and permitting, local governments can expand access to EV charging for residents, businesses, and visitors alike.

This session will provide an overview of the Charging Smart program and how it can support local EV readiness efforts. Attendees will hear from program staff at the Interstate Renewable Energy Council, along with community spotlights and insights from a local government representative in a Charging Smart–designated community.
