Recap: 2024 Drive Electric Minnesota Statewide Scavenger Hunt Challenge

Following the success of the inaugural Drive Electric Minnesota Statewide Scavenger Hunt Challenge in 2023, we held a similar event during the 2024 National Drive Electric Week, which ran from September 27 to October 6.

Twenty players from at least 10 cities across Minnesota participated in the 2024 event, competing with one another to climb the leaderboard and claim a cash prize. The following players won in 2024:

• 1^st place: kelseygeis, 1546 points
• 2^nd place: stalja02, 1426 points
• 3^rd place: shansel, 1370 points

Just like the 2023 event, we released three challenges each day:

• Photo challenges required players to capture selfies with different types of electric vehicles and infrastructure.
• Multiple-choice challenges tested players’ global and Minnesota electric vehicle literacy. Players who responded correctly the first time received bonus points.
• Text challenges required players to answer questions about national and Minnesota electric vehicle trivia.

To keep the momentum going throughout the event, we rewarded players with badges ranging from “Novice” to “Expert” after completing a certain number of challenges. Only four players received the Expert badge for completing at least 30 challenges (out of 34 challenges).

Combined, participants completed 357 challenges, submitted 52 photos, and received 65 badges. All players who participated in the follow-up survey improved their knowledge of electric vehicles.
