Electric School Bus Grant Informational Webinar
November 18 @ 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm
The Minnesota Department of Commerce is hosting an informational webinar on the Electric School Bus Grant Program Request for Proposals on Monday, November 18, 2024, from 1:00-2:00 p.m.
Created by the State Legislature, this program includes an impressive total of $13 million aimed at accelerating electric school bus deployment. Through this initiative, school districts will be encouraged to adopt vehicle electrification, which can also serve as an engaging teaching tool integrated into the school curriculum.
In this round, up to $6 million in funding is available for applicants. Depending on the financial needs and other prioritization criteria of each district, the Department can cover between 65% and 95% of eligible expenses.
This funding will help districts move forward with getting electric school buses on the road. Eligible uses include:
- Purchasing new electric school buses or repowering fossil-fuel-powered buses to run on electricity
- Deploying charging infrastructure for these buses
- Administering vehicle and charger procurement processes
Eligible applicants include:
- Independent and special school districts
- Tribal contract schools
- Transportation providers and utilities representing a school district
Please see the RFP for additional details on eligible expenses, funding coverage percentages, and definitions of eligible entities.
During the webinar, attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about the recent Request for Proposals for the Electric School Bus Grant and ask informational questions. Don’t miss this chance to explore funding opportunities for advancing clean, sustainable school transportation!
