EV Discussion Series – Battery Storage and Electrifying Everything

This week, Shift2Electric will be virtually touring homes that have adopted electric energy sources. The first tour will be Karie and Drew Johnson’s house in St Paul, where they have shifted to powering their whole house with electricity. They have a whole-house air source heat pump system, air source heat pump water heater, electric stove, and electric dryer. Next, Jukka Kokkonen will share about the solar+battery storage setup he has and talk about the pros and cons of these systems. Finally, Eric Sandeen will round out the tour by talking about how he uses his mini-split system for heating and will discuss how well different utility rates work with these setups. Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions about setup and hosts' experiences.
