EV Discussion Series – Level 2 and Blockchain Charging Technology

Shift2Electric will be joined this week by Matthew Blackler from ZEF Energy. He will provide inside perspectives on the following Level 2 charging technology developments:

1. Hardware Tech: The ZEFNET Pro is a new product about to be released in Minnesota. We will walk through the design process and highlight particular features that make the design unique. We will also hear directly from engineers working on the products and get a sneak peek of a new product about to hit the commercial market.
2. Software Tech: ZEF is involved in a project with a utility in Sacramento, CA, where local energy transactions on the utility campus are being journaled by a blockchain system to "track" where packets of energy flow around the distribution infrastructure within the facility. The ZEFNET cloud platform has been interfaced with third-party software to allow this to happen. What is blockchain? What's a local energy transaction? What's it got to do with EV charging? Why should I care? All these questions, and more, will be answered.
